Institution ProfileThe Norwegian University of Life Sciences is a university, which specialises in agricultural and environmental education. It was the only agricultural college in Norway when it was established in 1859. It was given a university status in 2005. The university also offers a Business Administration programme at the Master’s level. There are several subjects covered as part of the Business Administration programme. Students who have completed their Bachelor’s degree in business administration or other related fields are eligible for admission to the Master’s programme.
The compulsory subjects in the Business Administration programme at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences are business strategy, business economics and organisation leadership. The programme is taught using a variety of methods. These include seminars, lectures, group work, excursions, assignments and computer based learning. Evaluation is done on the basis of final exams as well as projects, student lectures and presentations. Regular exams are also conducted along with take home exams. There is a final Master’s thesis which has to be completed by all the Master’s students.
The Business Administration department at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences has its own student advisers. There is constant online, written or oral supervision provided by the course teachers during the programme. The students of this programme have the advantage of gaining additional knowledge of business development in the areas of natural sciences and technology.
