Institution ProfileThe Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration was opened in 1936 in Bergen. When it started, the college offered a two-year diploma to its first batch of sixty students. Now, the college offers Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, Executive MBA and doctorate degree programs in an extensive range of subjects. The college now has almost three thousand students and admits six hundred students every year.
There are many courses offered at the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration. The graduate summer school program in natural resource management and policy is a short-term course, which is aimed at MSc, and MBA students, who have an interest in environmental economics. Many international students come to study at the college, so most of the courses are taught in English. The subjects aimed at international students include International Strategy, Corporate Finance, and International Organisation and Management.
There are eight MSc courses, out of which two are taught completely in English. These are MSc in International Business and MSc in Energy, Natural Resources and the Environment. PhD programs are also offered in Economics, Accounting, Finance and Management Science. The college campus contains all study facilities as well as sports facilities and student accommodation. The student union organizes business related and social activities. The MSc in International Business students have their own group, which organizes business conferences and social events.
