Institution ProfileHedmark University College is located at the southeast part of Norway. It is one of the largest colleges in Norway. It caters to almost 4000 students. It uses the latest techniques of modern teaching. The Norwegian Quota Programme of the college is a funding scheme that is offered by the Norwegian Government to all its students belonging to the Central and Eastern Europe and former Soviet states. The basic aim of the Quota Programme is to encourage the internationalisation of higher education. At present, the programme sponsors around 1100 students. All the colleges in Norway are given some quota students. Most courses are available in English. The programmes are taken at PhD and Masters Degree. Hedmark University College gives preference to people belonging to partner institutions with which the college has agreements of cooperation.
The Student Welfare Organisation of Hedmark University College is an organisation that is governed by the students themselves. It is a non-profit organisation. The organisation takes care of the students. It helps them settle down in their new environment. If the students have any problem, it helps them resolve the problems. The students become members of the organisation automatically. The organisation offers student cafeterias, housing service, student childcare centres and student counselling service. It ensures that the atmosphere of the college is friendly and totally conducive to learning.
