Institution ProfileLocated in Bodo Norway, Bodo University College is home to over 5000 students. The campus has a number of state-of-the-art laboratories and special study areas. The library was recently renovated and students have access to computer labs at any time. During the fall, the college hosts an event called Fadderordningen, which is a welcoming and orientation period for new students. It lasts two to three weeks, during which senior students help new students get used to their new learning environment. This is done on an individual basis and via get-togethers and special events.
Both bachelor and master degree programs are available at Bodo University College. Students do not have to pay any tuition fees and there are four main faculties of study. The college also operates a unique Trainee, Internship, Placement Portfolio for all students who would like to gain practical work experience.
Bodo University College offers a number of research opportunities and even has its own research vessel called the Oscar Sund. The college runs research projects in business, social sciences, fisheries, natural sciences as well as professional studies. There is also Student Welfare Organization, which deals exclusively with student needs. These include accommodation issues, day care services and arranging social advisers. A number of sports and outdoor activities are offered as well and the college has a number of mountain cabins, which students can use for skiing or hiking trips.
