Institution ProfileUniversity of Turku - Faculty of Law is a member of the European Legal Practice Integrated Studies and the European Law Faculties Association. It is also an active participant in the Nordplus, ERASMUS and ISEP programs. The students are offered a chance to take up undergraduate and graduate level programs, in various fields of law. The institution also actively concentrates its research in areas such as, on European Law, Environmental Law, Criminal Law, and Contract Law. The faculty comprises of 68 members.
University of Turku - Faculty of Law encourages students to concentrate on one subject at a time. They are taught using seminars and group work. The students gain confidence and develop their oral presentation skills. This also helps improve their judicial argumentation skills. They also benefit by being given the opportunity to work with practicing lawyers. Students can take up a Bachelor's degree in Law, which students can take up full-time and complete in about 3 years. Students can also take up a Master's degree, which can be completed full-time in 2 years time. Both the programs are offered with Finnish as the medium of instruction, making it mandatory for students to be proficient in the Finnish Language.
University of Turku - Faculty of Law also offers continuing professional educational programs for qualified professionals that are also taught in Finnish. Students can also take up research and post graduate studies. The Turku Law School is also part of the University of Turku - Faculty of Law.
