Institution ProfileThe Savonia University of Applied Sciences is located in Eastern Finland and is home to around 5000 students. The university is dedicated to higher education and offers thirty degree courses in seven different industry fields. Established in 1992, most of the courses are given in Finnish while four programs and a number of short courses are given in English.
All bachelors' programs at the Savonia University of Applied Sciences consist of basic studies, professional studies, thesis work and work placement. A number of elective study courses are also provided. Degree programs are currently available for a number of fields like culture, natural science, social sciences, business and administration and natural resources and the environment. The university is also involved with adult education courses as well as a number of research and development projects. The university is also in international collaboration with a number of organizations.
The Savonia University of Applied Sciences welcomes students from the international community and offers assistance in finding accommodation. Students from other countries in the European Union can work both full time and part time without a work permit. Students can also take advantage of the university library which is equipped with both digital and print resources and reference material. Students will find learning tools related to their subjects and curriculum. People working on research and development projects can also find relevant resource material here. The library is also open as a public research library.
