University of New Brunswick - Saint John: Established: 1964 Number of Students Upwards of 2,000 students attend the University of New Brunswick in Saint John. Programs Offered at the University of New Brunswick at Saint John are over 40 undergraduate major degrees and 16 minor options in Arts, Business Administration, Data Analysis, Computer Science, Education, Health Sciences and Nursing, and Science, and among which is the Bachelor of Business Administration in Electronic Commerce, Canada’s first “e-business” program. Students in Engineering may also complete the first two years of their respective program at Saint John and then transfer to the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton to complete the remaining credits for their degrees. The University also has undergraduate certificate options in Accounting, Business Administration, Computing, Data Analysis, Economics, Electronic Commerce, Financial Markets, French Levels I and II, Gender Studies, Human Resource Management, Mathematics for Teachers, and Mental Health Nursing and a Diploma of Advanced Undergraduate Studies. The University of New Brunswick has 4 graduate degrees in Biology, Business, and Psychology, including a PhD option in Biology. However, students at Saint John do have access to courses and program’s at the University’s Fredericton campus. Interesting Facts The University of New Brunswick at St. John (UNB St. John) is a campus of the University of New Brunswick at Fredericton. The St. John campus is unique not only because of its smaller enrollment and class sizes that allow for a more individualized, interactive, and intimate learning experience but also because all of its permanent buildings are connected by a series of hubs, tunnels, and walkways. Furthermore, the St. John campus has students from some 70 countries, and the campus thus fosters a multicultural atmosphere particularly through such events as Chinese New Year, International Potluck, and Latin Nights. In 2003, UNB St. John opened a new building, the Saint John College, which serves as a preparatory facility including a computer language laboratory.
