Just as the course of study pursued by recreation and leisure studies undergrads is varied, so are the opportunities available to them once they graduate. Though many pursue a teaching career, there are jobs available in tourism, park services, hospitals and clinics, local recreation centers, old age homes, and the private sector. A graduate of recreation management might pursue further study with an MBA; a graduate of a therapeutic recreation or kinesiology program might go on to become a physiotherapist or consider medical school; still others might gravitate toward coaching or sport science. The list of careers available for graduates of this field will continue to grow as the society moves toward a more sophisticated understanding and pursuit of recreational activity. The University of Alberta’s 'What Can You Do With Your Degree?' provides some interesting information on the careers and work settings available to graduates from the various degree programs: http://www.physedandrec.ualberta.ca/careers.cfm Graduates of the University of Waterloo’s recreation program speak about their 'cool jobs' here: http://www.ahs.uwaterloo.ca/admissions/reccooljobs.html
