Prerequisites Needed to Study Public Administration in Canada |
Admission to a public administration program depends on the nature of the degree offered. Graduate degrees, diplomas and certificates are subject to restricted enrolment, and on occasion previous professional experience or study in a related discipline is preferred. Undergraduate programs do not generally have such strict requirements, but as demand for public administrators increases over the next decade, admissions standards may rise above that of a typical Arts or Humanities program. At any rate, the student should have a strong background in the language of study, and may want to consider achieving fluency in Canada’s other official language in order to gain admission to specific institutions (like Concordia University) or open up a wider range of job opportunities in the future.
