Graduates of oral biology usually work in research or teaching (or both). They can work at universities or hospitals where they do research into the oral sciences, usually working in collaboration with a clinical dentist. They can also work in a hospital environment where they help to design and carry out experiments in dental research.
Oral biologists can also work in teaching biology, microbiology, and pathology at the post-secondary level. They can, with an additional teaching degree, teach biology at the high-school level.
With a clinical degree they can also work in local dental clinics. Some oral biologists will choose to work internationally, helping to deliver dental care in third-world countries.
A degree in oral biology can also be used for entry to medicine, microbiology, or immunology.
