Not all graduates of law school choose to enter into private practice or work in a courtroom. There are many positions in government, nonprofit organizations and the business sector that require expertise in the legal system, including business executives, policy advisors, ethicists, and the like. To further these diverse career ends, some students choose to take their LL.B. degrees concurrently with Master’s degrees in topics such as business administration, public administration, criminology, ethics, or indigenous governance. Others may choose to go on to a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree, which prepares graduates for careers in policy making, teaching and legal research.
