Graduates of human resources programs often go on to specific jobs dealing with workplace issues, such as labour union organizers and HR managers in charge of recruiting, compensation, health and safety, training, and evaluation for businesses, government and non-profit organizations. It is now possible to earn a Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) designation, and many graduates are seeking this distinction after graduation. The degree can also form the basis for further study in labour law, management, public administration, community studies and business administration; graduates may go on to assume leadership roles in their chosen fields.
