Prerequisites for Graduate Studies in Industrial Engineering |
Admission to a graduate-level program requires a previous degree in a related discipline (eg. engineering, or sometimes a business degree or a combined engineering/business degree) with a minimum B+ average (in some cases this must be an honors degree). Practical experience in industrial engineering, via co-op or industry experience is an advantage for admission.
Admission to a PhD program can either be directly from an undergraduate degree (in addition to already having extensive research experience, and being published in a peer-reviewed journal), or after acquiring a relevant Master's-level degree.
As all graduate programs require a supervisor, most schools require this person to be approved prior to final admission.
