Graduate programs in health informatics are available in Canada. For admission to a graduate certificate or Master's-level degree program, students must have completed an undergraduate degree in a related field such as health informatics, informatics, health studies, or computer science, with at least a B+ average. Practical experience in health informatics, such as that found in industry or directed studies, is an asset.
To be admitted to a PhD program in health informatics, students must have a Master's-level degree in a related field. Some schools may allow direct entry to their PhD program, provided the student has an aptitude for research and sufficiently high (A-) academic marks.
All graduate degree programs require the student to arrange for a program supervisor, prior to final admission.
