Global studies is a discipline that will continue to grow for some time, as will employment opportunities in a wide variety of fields. While the focus of such programs is of course international, graduates may eventually choose to pursue employment in the development of social and economic programs closer to home. Global studies graduates find jobs throughout the world as advisors, consultants, civil servants, foreign service workers, and aid workers in the fields of human rights and social development. Others may choose to pursue further study in one of the core fields (e.g. political science), in global studies, or in law, tourism, journalism, education, public health, medicine, international business and finance, nutrition, or agriculture.
