Studying Endodontics in Canada |
Students studying endodontics learn the underlying biology of the tooth and surrounding tissues, in preparation for surgical treatment if necessary. Students study the various causes of dental trauma including disease infection and physical trauma to the oral region. Based on these common scenarios, students learn about the various surgical procedures for cracked or broken teeth, inflamed roots, and badly occluded teeth.
Students also study general anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, pathology, and radiology. Classroom studies are supplemented by seminars and clinical sessions where students can examine issues such as abscesses and watch root canals being performed.
