An undergraduate degree in criminology can lead to a wide range of careers in the law, policymaking and justice-related fields. They may end up working as police, parole or corrections officers, legal aid, anti-poverty, youth and child welfare workers, community justice advocates, or consultants in the private and public sectors. Criminology graduates are also well suited for postgraduate work in disciplines such as policy analysis, public administration and of course, law. The University of Manitoba has career and volunteer links (mainly Manitoba-centred, but will give an idea of the opportunities available): http://www.umanitoba.ca/faculties/arts/sociology/programs/crimcareer.shtml Carleton University’s criminology department also has an excellent careers site: http://www.carleton.ca/crimsoc/career.html
