To get into a Master's-level program in clinical psychology, students must have an undergraduate degree with at least a B+ average, in a related field such as psychology or psychiatry. Previous experience in clinical psychology is considered an asset. Doctoral-level programs are also available. Generally speaking, PhD program are centered on research, while PsyD programs are practice-oriented. In either case, students must have a Master's-level degree in clinical psychology. In all graduate cases, the supervisor must be chosen prior to final admission. Some schools may require results from the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).
