A previous degree in a related discipline (eg. biology) with a minimum B+ average is required for admission to a graduate-level program in agricultural science (MSc or MAg). Some schools also require some form of experience in a agricultural science setting, such as practical experience at a farm or greenhouse, directed studies, or co-operative education.
Admission to a PhD program in agricultural science can either be directly from an undergraduate degree (in addition to already having extensive research experience and a high academic average) or after acquiring a relevant Master's-level degree.
As all graduate programs require a supervisor, most schools require this person to be approved prior to final admission.
