Test Preparation for Students in Canada

Test Preparation Books

  • ACT: Originally known as The American College Testing Program, ACT helps students make more effective decisions about which colleges they should attend and which college programs to study and provide information to colleges with the process of admitting students and ensuring they are successful after they have enrolled.

  • GMAT: The GMAT or the Graduate Management Admission Test is an aptitude test which is required for entry to business school or when you are enrolled in a MBA. The preparation test exmaines your skills in math, English, and logic.

  • GRE: The GRE or the Graduate Record Examination is aimed at students interested in going to graduate school. The examination consists of two tests: the General Test and the Subject Test in psychology.

  • LSAT: The Law School Admissions Test measure skills that are considered necessary for becoming success in law school. The test examines your ability to read and comprehend complex tasks and organize and manage information effectively. Also the ability to think critically and able to analyze and evaluate information.

  • MCAT: The Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) is a standardized test for applicants interested in enrolling into medical school. The MCAT tests your your knowledge of science, problem-solving skills, critical thinking ability, and writing skills.

  • PSAT: The Preliminary Scholastic Achievement Test (PSAT) is a two-hour test that is administered once a year in October for students in either their junior or sophmore year. Like with the SAT, you receive separate verbal and math scores. Also, the test also includes an additional third scored section testing English grammar. Each subject is scored on a scale of 20 to 80 and these scores are combined to create your National Merit Scholarship selection index.

  • SAT: The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT-I) is a three-hour examination that measures verbal and mathematical reasoning. Many colleges and universities use SAT-I results as part of the information on which they base their admissions decisions.
