While the University of Alaska Fairbanks was founded in the early 1900s, its Tanana Valley campus was established in 1974 as part of the university's Rural and Community Development program. The campus currently offers over 40 degree programs and certificate courses for a wide variety of subjects, as well as non-credited training and development programs and seminars. The Tanana Valley Campus of the University of Alaska Fairbanks also offers a paralegal studies program that has the approval of the American Bar Association.
