Hummer pull... For two years, Western Engineering has held the Shinerama title for most money raised and most innovative fundraising ideas on campus. The team aims to impress again this year with a Hummer pull planned for Saturday, September 10 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Visitors can pay to see the team pull the Hummer around the Zellers parking lot at Masonville Place. Western's Orientation Week raises money each year for Shinerama - a charity that helps raise money and awareness for Cystic Fibrosis. This week Engineers without Borders at Western have wrapped a huge white bracelet around the tower on Spencer Engineering Building to raise awareness across campus for the Make Poverty History Campaign. The white wrist band is one facet of the global awareness campaign aimed at ending world poverty. Engineers without Borders at Western will also be making presentations on the Make Poverty History Campaign to all first-year Engineering students. The Campaign continues for the rest of 2005, with many other events planned for campus by Engineers without Borders and other organizations on campus.
