September 9, 2005 Source: Trent University: http://www.trentu.ca/news/pressreleases/050909katrina.htm Trent Helping Hurricane Katrina Victims (Peterborough) Trent University, in an effort to help students affected by Hurricane Katrina, will expedite application processes for those students wishing to enroll at Trent for September 2005 and January 2006. "We, along with other Canadian universities, feel a great deal of sympathy for the students and our colleagues at institutions affected by this tragedy," said Dr. Michael Allcott, director of the Trent International Program (TIP). "We are going to try to assist where possible. We'd like to do everything we can to help." This could include meeting the academic needs of undergraduate or graduate students, he said. An emergency travel bursary has been established to help meet financial needs of affected students. Students whose study plans have been interrupted by this disaster may e-mail tip@trentu.ca for further information.
