Scholars from universities in Canada, the United States, and Europe will address the conference theme of America and Violence in a range of sessions on the history, politics, literature, and popular culture of the United States including panels on topics related to the current war in Iraq. Sponsorship and organization of the four-day conference is also a cooperative endeavor of Saint Mary's, Dalhousie University, and The Nova Scotia College of Art and Design.
