September 27, 2005 Source: Mount Allison University: http://www.mta.ca/news/index.cgi?id=820 Celtic Impressions CD to be launched Oct. 2 SACKVILLE, NB — Mount Allison University music professor Gayle h Martin will launch her new CD Celtic Impressions on Sunday, October 2 at 4 p.m. in the University Chapel. The album was recently recorded on the chapel's beautiful organ. The launch will celebrate the joy of music-making with a variety of musical friends contributing to the entertainment. Deborah Martin Kraus, mezzo-soprano from Montreal, will join Monette Gould from Moncton in the singing of Scottish folk songs and familiar classical duets. The Elliott Chorale will sing Ocean's Daughter, a newly-composed choral work inspired by a poem by fourteen-year-old Jacklyn Dobson from Midgic, NB. Christopher MacDonald's Cape Breton fiddle music will delight the audience and encourage everyone to participate in the singing of familiar tunes.
