This year's fundraiser is on Wednesday, October 5 from 2-4 p.m. Once again, talented actors from the University will perform scenes from their favorite authors, including Margaret Atwood, Herman Melville, Mark Twain and others. Last year, ticket sales and contributions resulted in over $7,000 in new funding for the University library. It also led to the donation of a unique book collection that will be announced during the Tea. The Friends of the Cape Breton University Library was formed two years ago to improve the resources of the library. Library Friends are community volunteers who want to ensure that students at Cape Breton University have access to library resources that are second to none. People who want to support this goal can attend the tea, make a donation, help as a volunteer or contribute special book collections to the library. For tickets to the Tea Party or further information please call Laura Syms, at the university library, 563-1994. -30- For further information please contact: Joan Weeks, Steering Committee Member 577-3238, folkus@auracom.com Laura Syms, Steering Committee and Cape Breton University Library 563-1994, laura_syms@capebretonu.ca
