Kolb's lecture, Beyond Einstein: The Dark Side of the Universe, will explore the greatest challenge facing cosmology today - the nature of the mysterious dark energy and dark matter that together make up the bulk of the universe and dominate its destiny but are not detectable except through their gravitational influence. Kolb, a dynamic speaker featured recently in the OMNIMAX/IMAX film The Cosmic Voyage, is a professor at the University of Chicago and founding member of the NASA/Fermilab Astrophysics Group. This Cosmic Frontiers series is presented by the University of Toronto Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics in partnership with the Ontario Science Centre and the Astronomy and Space Exploration Society.
