September 16, 2005 Source: Memorial University of Newfoundland: http://www.mun.ca/univrel/news/index.php?includefile=showitem.php&id=887 Memorial University to officially open Inco Innovation Centre On Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2005, officials from Memorial University, Inco Ltd., and the federal and provincial governments will officially open the Inco Innovation Centre, the university’s new $18 million research and innovation facility located on its St. John’s campus. The opening ceremony begins at 11 a.m.in the Lecture Theatre of the Inco Innovation Centre (Room IIC-2001). Participating in this ceremony will be Dr. Axel Meisen, president and vice-chancellor of Memorial; Scott Hand, president of Inco Ltd.; Todd Russell, member of parliament for Labrador (speaking on behalf of Joseph McGuire, minister of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency); and Tom Hedderson, minister of the Department of Education. Media agencies are encouraged to send representatives. Parking available in lot 17, located on the north side of the Inco Innovation Centre.
