The Career Centre's annual Career Fair, co-hosted by the Trent Business Students' Association, will feature employers from a range of industries. Employers will be on hand to answer students' career related and job search questions, while also promoting their recruiting opportunities. "The Career Fair is a great opportunity to network with employers, some of whom only visit campus once during the year for this event. Recruiters will be here looking for strong candidates with diverse skills - students they know they can find here at Trent. I would encourage students in all years and majors to use this opportunity to build their connections and showcase their unique skills," says Sonya Hardman, employer services advisor for the Career Centre. The following week, students will have the chance to further explore post-graduate opportunities at the Professional and Graduate School Expo. The Expo brings representatives from professional programs and graduate schools on campus to publicize post-graduate options for Trent students. This year the event has reached its maximum capacity and will host 44 schools – the largest fair to date. Career Centre staff encourages all students to drop by the expo, despite their year of study. Hardman adds that: "Students can learn what different schools have to offer and to find out about admissions criteria. Whether you are a graduating student thinking of applying to a program this year, or a first year student who wants to start gathering information, this event is not to be missed." The Career Fair takes place Thursday, October 13 and the Professional and Graduate School Expo on Wednesday, October 19. Both events will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Gzowski College.
