October 3, 2005 Source: University of Western Ontario: http://communications.uwo.ca/media_newsroom/story.html?listing_id=19869 Teachers Wall of Fame Recognizes Local Heroes WHAT: In an inaugural ceremony on World Teachers' Day, two London teachers who have given a lifetime of commitment to students and to the teaching profession, will be inducted into the Teachers' Wall of Fame. WHO: Betsy Reilly taught in the elementary schools of London from 1974-2005 and retired in June from her position at St. George's Public School. Father William Thompson began his career in 1965 at Catholic Central Secondary School and today teaches at St. Thomas Aquinas. Both inductees were nominated by former students who spoke strongly about the contributions of their teachers to their learning and their development as individuals. Mayor Anne Marie DeCicco, whose life was touched by Father Thompson, will be among the speakers at the ceremony. WHEN: October 5, 2005 at 3 p.m. WHERE: Stevenson & Hunt Room, Central Library The Teachers' Wall of Fame is a partnership project of The Faculty of Education at The University of Western Ontario and the London Public Library.
