A Remembrance Day Concert, featuring the University of Ottawa Orchestra and renowned soprano Maria Knapik conducted by David Currie, will take place on Thursday, November 10, 2005 at 8:00 pm at St. Joseph’s Church (corner of Wilbrod and Cumberland). Presented by the University of Ottawa in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, this concert is dedicated to the memory of victims of tyranny, oppression and genocide. On the programme: Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber; Elegia (World Premiere) by Peter Paul Koprowski; and Symphony of Sorrowful Songs by Henryk M. Gorecki. Admission to the concert is a voluntary contribution at the door ($10 suggested).
