October 26, 2005 Source: University of Northern British Columbia: http://www.unbc.ca/releases/2005/10_26nmp.html Northern Medical Program Officials Meet with Terrace Doctors Expanding opportunities for medical education in the Northwest will be the focus of local meetings later this week. Dr. David Snadden, the Associate Vice-President of Medicine at UNBC and the leader of the Northern Medical Program, along with Dr Galt Wilson, Clerkship Director for the program, will be visiting with Terrace-area physicians on October 26 to discuss the possibility of developing core clinical training for third-year medical students based around the clinical facilities in the Northwest. The Northern Medical Program is part of the UBC Faculty of Medicine, offered in partnership with UNBC. Its primary objective is to educate physicians with the skills and experience necessary for practice in rural and northern communities. The first group of NMP students is currently in their second year of studies at UNBC; the second class will begin their studies at UNBC in January.
