Source: Memorial University of Newfoundland http://www.mun.ca/marcomm/news/index.php?includefile=showitem.php&id=1317 Marine Institute to announce remotely operated vehicle (ROV) program, simulators, international competitionOctober 25, 2006 The Fisheries and Marine Institute of Memorial University of Newfoundland will hold a news conference on Thursday, Oct. 26 at 10 a.m. to announce its new Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) Technical Certificate program and installation of two new ROV simulators received from GRI Simulations Inc. and the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. MI and the Institute for Ocean Technology (IOT) will also announce details to co-host the 2007 Marine Advanced Technology Education (MATE) International Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) competition June 22-24, 2007. Trevor Taylor, minister of Innovation, Trade and Rural Development and Dr. Axel Meisen, Memorial president and vice-chancellor will speak. The news conference will be held at the Institute’s Centre for Sustainable Aquatic Resources, 155 Ridge Road.
