While learning new strategies about how to help students understand mathematics, the cohort’s numbers outside the classroom increased. MSVU Associate Professor Genevičve Boulet suggested this may "add up" to the fact a baby was always present in the classroom. The new MEds will bring their new appreciation and insight about mathematics back to their classrooms and workplaces, to help primary to Grade 9 students learn what’s behind how they do the math. The Master of Education (Elementary and Middle School Education) with a specialty in Mathematics degree was developed by MSVU faculty to help improve math understanding. After this experience, MSVU has decided to add to its offerings by extending this program to include Grades 9 to 12. The first cohort in the newly-extended master's degree began this past July. And the babies… two more are on the way. For more information or to arrange interviews, please contact: Anne Stephaniuk MSVU Public Affairs Tel: (902) 457-6439 Cell: (902) 441-0505
