The professors will be joined by corporate executives of 3M and the President of the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, co-sponsors of the award. This national teaching award rewards exceptional contributions to teaching and learning at Canadian universities. "Western was instrumental in the establishment of the 3M Teaching Fellowship Program. The long association, which began two decades ago, demonstrates Western's commitment to enhancing university education and providing an environment that supports the scholarship of teaching and learning," says Debra Dawson, Director of the Teaching Support Centre. There are 19 fellows at Western, the highest number in Ontario. The celebratory event runs from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Gibbons Lodge, the official residence of Western's president, this evening.
