This exciting event will highlight the laboratory's current and future research and celebrate the significant milestones in its brief history. The Piano Pedagogy Research Laboratory is a state-of-the-art facility that makes it possible to directly observe specific visual or auditory phenomena in order to measure the complex activity of learning to play the piano. The Laboratory's sophisticated hardware makes it possible to carry out a variety of experiments in a controlled environment. A novice student's performance can be digitized, saved on computer or on videotape, and converted into statistical graphs and measurements. This research helps students and teachers better understand the mystery behind playing piano.
