The vote will take place on Wednesday and Thursday of this week following a membership meeting at 5:30 Wednesday evening. At a meeting on October 26th, a significant majority of Teaching Assistants voted to take the University's settlement proposal to this formal ratification ballot. On November 6th, the University met with the union and agreed to enhance its proposal with additional increases to the employer Dental Plan and Benefit Fund contributions. "The University is hopeful that Teaching Assistants will consider this offer fair and competitive and will vote to accept it," said Bob McNutt, Acting Provost and Vice-President Academic. "This is the best that can be offered to achieve a settlement. The offer maintains McMaster's above-average wages while ensuring fair working conditions and continued graduate TA job security." Polling will take place Wednesday evening after the membership meeting in the new David Braley Athletic Centre. On Thursday polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the lobbies of the Mills and Thode Libraries. Full details of the University's Best Offer can be found at here.
