Marsh was relieved of his duties that morning. Sean Feretycki, has assumed the role of president; formerly, he held the position of vice-president internal. Marsh is planning to appeal his removal. NUSU is an independent body that governs itself through its own constitution, bylaws and rules of order. It is a separate entity from Nipissing University and the university’s governing bylaws. "While it is difficult to see our students embroiled in a process of this nature, the university fully respects their right to self govern," said university president Dr. Dennis Mock. "The university staff and faculty all wish NUSU and the students a fair and just resolution to this issue."
