Five SFU students have been selected as the first recipients. The TV5 Quebec Canada Scholarship is aimed at students enrolling for the first time in the new bachelor of arts program, Public Administration and Community Services, offered in French in the faculty of arts and social sciences at SFU. For the next two consecutive years, 20 scholarships, valued at $1,000 each, will be distributed to students with strong academic records. In addition, TV5 Quebec Canada will help raise the profile of SFU's Office of Francophone & Francophile Affairs by adding a link on their website. "Our office is grateful to TV5 Quebec Canada for applauding the efforts of SFU, which is, like itself, open to innovation, diversity and cultural dialogue, as well as to the vitality and expanding influence of the French language and all the components of French culture in Canada," says Yolande Grisé, director of the Office of Francophone and Francophile Affairs at SFU. -30-
