The Master of Science in Sustainable Energy Development is a 14-month, interdisciplinary program offered jointly by the University of Calgary and the Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ) in Quito, Ecuador and is taught at USFQ by faculty from both Universities. The Program is designed to expose Latin American and Caribbean managerial and technical professionals to the knowledge and skills required 'to effectively manage energy projects and operations in accordance with sustainable energy development principles.' To be considered for admission applicants must hold 'a relevant undergraduate degree from an internationally recognized university...be fluent in Spanish and English,' and 'have shown an ability to produce results and to communicate effectively.' Additionally, it is preferred that applicants have a minimum of 3 years of work experience. Upon successful completion of the Program, students will be granted a Master of Science (MSc) in Sustainable Energy Development from the University of Calgary's Faculty of Graduate Studies.
