Profile of MBA Program - Memorial University of NewfoundlandSince the mid-1990s, the Faculty of Business Administration at Memorial University of Newfoundland, the first in Atlantic Canada to receive accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the world's foremost accrediting body for business schools, has become ever-more known, nationally and internationally, for its propensity to offer some of the highest quality and innovative programs in Canada and the world, and taught by some of the most respected professors in the field of business. This rise in the Faculty's profile is largely the result of the great success its students have attained in a multitude of highly regarded national and international business competitions. At the undergraduate level, the Faculty of Business Administration at Memorial University of Newfoundland offers the Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Commerce (Co-operative), International Bachelor of Business Administration, and Diploma in Business Administration while at the graduate level, it proffers a Master of Business Administration (MBA), with specialization options in marketing, finance, strategic management, international studies, and human resources management and labour relations, Master of Employment Relations (offered jointly by MemorialĘs Faculties of Arts and Business Administration.), and, beginning in 2007, a Ph.D. in Management. The Faculty also affords many co-operative learning options and international exchange opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students. Students may earn credit towards their respective degrees while studying in a partnered institution in Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Mexico, Norway, or Sweden. Additionally, the Centre for Management Development (CMD), which is part of the Faculty of Business Administration, carries various professional development opportunities designed to meet the specific needs of individual professionals and organizations. Programs available at the CMD include Armchair Discussions, Goose Bay-Masters Certificate in Project Management Master's Certificate in Project Management, and Public Sector Leadership and Management Development Program. The primary goal of the Faculty and CMD is to create graduates who are able to become successful economic leaders by instilling in them 'innovative thinking, entrepreneurial excellence, and in-depth knowledge of the global business environment.' |
