The University of Manitoba 's Asper School of Business's Master of Science in Management is an intensive, research-oriented program which allows students to acquire the knowledge and direct experience required to engage in rigorous academic inquiry regarding 'technical aspects of business operations,' such as organizational management, within a chosen field of concentration. Students will be afforded the opportunity to gain 'specialization in one of the core areas of management' including Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Management of Organizations, Marketing, or Supply Chain Management. It is the goal of the Program to graduate students who are 'well versed in research methods and specialized knowledge' and who will be ready 'to undertake additional graduate work (e.g., at the doctoral level), to take up staff/research/consultative positions in private or public sector organizations in Canada,
