Dalhousie University's Masters of Public Administration - Management (MPA-M) is a part-time program designed primarily for mid-career civil servants, although new graduates are welcomed, which 'emphasizes the theory, analysis and practice of public sector management' in order 'to address the specific concerns and realities of todayÆs public sector leaders' including accountability, change, ethics, integrity, and leadership. The Program, which may be completed in 7 years, is delivered via distance education utilizing 'web-facilitated instruction, problem-based assignments and interactive sessions' with the exception of 2-5 day intensive session, usually held in either Halifax or Ottawa, which follows each of the 14 courses. The Intensives provide students with the opportunity to meet with their professor(s) 'to review and build upon the distance curriculum' and exchange 'perspectives and experiences with fellow public sector professionals.' The MPA-M's curriculum is developed via consultations between the School of Public Administration and public administration experts from across Canada in order to ensure its continued relevancy.
