The John Molson School of Business at Concordia University offers a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program designed for individuals with or without a background in Commerce who aspire to attain 'a generalist management degree.' With emphasis on the case study approach to education, the primary goal of the MBA program is to enhance students' leadership abilities through imparting the knowledge and skills required 'to develop and apply strategies that work in an increasingly complex and global environment.' To attain their MBA degrees, students must successfully complete 57 credits comprised of nineteen 3-credit courses which may be taken on a full-time basis over 16 to 24 months or on a part-time schedule over 3 to 5 years. The MBA program is divided into two parts. The first part is comprised 'of 12 core courses that provide an integrated body of practical skills that serve as a foundation.' The second part allows students to choose among three paths to graduation including Course Work, Business Research Project, or Practicum Consulting Project and also enables students to specialize in one of nine areas including Accountancy, Corporate Governance, Entrepreneurship, Global Business, Investment Finance, Marketing, MIS, Supply Chain Management, and Strategy. Full-time students who have completed at least 24 credits with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.30 are eligible to participate in co-operative education which includes paid employment in Canada or in another country for one or more semester(s). MBA Co-op students are required to pay '$185 CDN per semester until graduation, including academic (course work) semesters.' Students who posses a recognized bachelor degree in business with a CGPA of 3.30 or better 'completed within the past 6 years' along with a high GMAT score, usually 620 or higher, and at least 2 years of work experience are eligible to enter the Accelerated MBA option. The latter is the same as the regular MBA program except students will be required to complete 45 credits instead of 57.
