Profile of Faculty of Business Administration - Lakehead UniversityEstablished in 1965 and located in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Lakehead University is a small post-secondary institution whose Faculty of Business Administration utilizes a combination of theory and practice to educate students in the fundamental basics of business and in the specific knowledge of a chosen area of concentration. The main goal of Lakehead University is to establish graduates who possess a comprehensive understanding of business along with the analytical, leadership, and adaptability skills required to succeed in an ever-changing business world. Having a small student population, usually 400-500 attending per year, Lakehead University is not only an institution of higher learning but also a social centre in which students frequently interact with each other and who often meet with professors outside of formal classrooms and offices to discuss contents of specific courses and the myriad aspects of business. The Faculty offers 4 major programs at the undergraduate and graduate level. At the former level, the Faculty provides the Honours Bachelor of Commerce, a 4-year program after Ontario OAC, and Bachelor of Administration, a 1-year program after completion of the first 2 years of the Honours Bachelor of Commerce program. Available graduate degrees include the Master of Science in Management, which is geared towards Business and Commerce graduates wanting to further 'their career standing by taking coursework focused on theoretical and conceptual components of the business discipline,' and the Master of Management, which is designed for those with a 4-year undergraduate 'degree in a field other than Business or Commerce, who are seeking to expand their management knowledge.'
