Saint Mary's University's Sobey School of Business offers a 2-year Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) program tailored to the professional needs of experienced executives and managers who want to maintain full-time employment while learning. The School assumes that individuals enrolled in the Program are seasoned businesspersons and, following introductory refresher workshops in Accounting and Leadership, classes will focus less on the basics, concepts, and theories of business than on their 'practical applications' in the real world of management. Classes will be 'held on Fridays and Saturdays of alternate weeks' from September to April, and students will be required to complete 'class assignments, exams, and an individual Major Research Project, in which the participant will normally explore a question or issue from his or her job.'
