Responsibilities Purpose: PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A TEMPORARY CONTRACT. The Coordinator: Adjudications is responsible for the coordination of the Faculty Committee on Research Policy and Planning, Committee on Teaching and Learning, and provides technical (databases, web-interfaces) and administrative support to fulfill the adjudicative mandate of each Committee and Council. The Coordinator: Adjudications is responsible for coordinating Committee adjudication of and maintenance of the Faculty databases that facilitates this adjudicative process. The Coordinator: Adjudications is responsible for coordinating Committee adjudication and processing of faculty research grant applications, and coordinating the Dean's Awards for Excellence. The Coordinator: Adjudications manages the operation of Council and standing committee nominations and elections process.

Experience and Qualifications Education: University degree or equivalent. Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in an academic governance and policy setting environment. Experience designing and managing databases; processing student awards and bursaries, and coordinating grant competitions required. Experience managing funds disbursement. Experience supporting academic committees, coordinating nominations and election processes. Knowledge of and experience using the York University Academic Repository preferred. Skills: REQUIRED SKILLS: Access (advanced), Excel (advanced), HTML (advanced), Word (advanced), HTML, SIS or equivalent. DEMONSTRATED SKILLS: Demonstrated ability to design and maintain databases, particularly related to generation of decisions and facilitating academic adjudicative functions. Knowledge and understanding of academic legislation. Keyboarding, accuracy essential; demonstrated skill/ability in the following areas: database and web interface understanding; word-processing and computerized spreadsheet skills in a Windows environment; inputting information on an on-line computerized student records system; excellent oral communication skills, including accurately eliciting, interpreting, summarizing and providing advice on complex issues; taking and transcribing minutes; excellent written communication skills; maintaining confidentiality; attending accurately to detail; exercising initiative: working independently and working cooperatively as a member of a team; effective interpersonal skills including exercising tact and diplomacy; analyzing and evaluating situations/circumstances and solving problems; excellent organization skills, including setting priorities and working under pressure of high volume.
