Technologist, Plant Chemical - SaskPower

Overview

This position is essential to SaskPower's basic operations and meets the Saskatchewan's government hiring direction. SaskPower is looking for a permanent full time Technologist, Plant Chemical to work in a team environment conducting laboratory analysis and associated plant tests to ensure plant chemical operating limits are maintained. Working from our Boundary Power Station in Estevan, this involves: gathering, selecting and preparing test samples; calculating and interpreting test results and initiating corrective actions such as informing appropriate personnel and altering chemical feeds to the plant systems; and compiling and preparing test data and reports on the findings. This position will also be responsible to provide support to professionals, perform quality assurance and quality control functions while managing various budget, tendering and estimating duties related to departmental projects and functions.

Experience and Qualifications

Successful applicants must have a diploma in Chemical Technology or a degree in Chemistry, excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills and a valid class 5 Driver's Licence.
