Overview The Municipality of Huron Shores is currently seeking applicants for the Youth Internship position of Treasury Intern. This position will provide treasury support for the operation of the municipality on a full-time basis for a one-year contract with the opportunity to fill the position of Assistant Treasurer after the one-year training period.

Responsibilities Accounts Payable, Payroll, Tax Billing and Collecting, General Ledger Maintenance, Budgeting, Bank Reconciliation using Asyst software
Audit Preparation, Tax Balancing, Comparison To Budget Reporting using Excel spreadsheets
Grant Reporting
Capital Asset Management
Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications Eligible applicants should be Northern Ontario secondary school graduates 29 years of age or under who recently graduated from an accredited college or university and have a firm understanding of basic accounting principles. Graduates from a high school outside of Northern Ontario who have resided in the North for at least one year are also eligible. Mature graduates may be considered. This position must be the first full-time job in the applicant's field of study. Applicant must not have previously participated in an internship program. Municipal accounting education and/or experience is an asset.
