Overview The Technology/Web Design Intern will set technical direction for the Parry Sound Victim Services, the Parry Sound Volunteer Network and the Senior Safety and Security Network. The Technology Intern will build and maintain well-engineered websites, and assist in the development, implementation and operationalization of a client and volunteer database. The Technology Intern will provide technical leadership, foster innovation and assist in moving the organizations forward technologically.

Responsibilities 1. development of a web site, client management database and a volunteer management database for Parry Sound Victim Services 2. development of an education focused web site with information and resources to assist seniors vulnerable to abuse and those who care about and for them for Senior Safety and Security Network 3. development of a virtual volunteer centre web site devoted to helping volunteers find opportunities and provide a venue for community organizations to post volunteer opportunities, training initiatives, community events etc. for Parry Sound Volunteer Network

Experience and Qualifications Qualifications Northern Ontario secondary school graduates 29 years of age or under who recently graduated from an accredited college or university. Graduates from a high school outside of Northern Ontario who have resided in the North for at least one year are also eligible. Mature graduates may be considered. The Technology Intern will have A Diploma/degree in fine arts, graphic design, or publishing A passion for website development An in-depth understanding of software development Fast learning skills, and be amazingly creative Effective information acquisition strategies A capacity to work under pressure while observing high quality standards The ability to work for not-for-profit agencies in a community environment The ability to work with, train and speak with non-techies
